Shiatsu is a Japanese body work based on the ancient wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine, western anatomy and physiology. Shiatsu literally means “finger pressure”. This is similar to acupuncture but without the use of needles.

The body has numerous energy lines, known as meridians, through which flows the bodies’ energy, known as Ki or Chi. The meridians can be affected by stress, overwork, emotional traumas and illness, which can cause blockages. A shiatsu session consists of stretches, rotations, palm work and finger pressure, with the aim of releasing blocked energy.
