HPV Vaccine recommended for Wiltshire girls

Wiltshire school girls are to be offered a routine HPV vaccination from September 2008 as part of the national immunisation programme against cervical cancer.

Girls aged 12 – 13 years will be offered the vaccination through schools, with a two-year catch up campaign starting in autumn 2009 for girls up to the age of 18.

Wiltshire Primary Care to re-badge as NHS Wiltshire

Wiltshire PCT is changing its name.

From 1st November 2008 the organisation will be referred to as NHS Wiltshire.

NHS Wiltshire is a simpler name, easier to understand and indicating that they are responsible for more than primary care. The other PCTs in the South West and across the country are making similar changes in line with Department of Health guidance.
